Museum Institute for Teaching Science

The Museum Institute for Teaching Science (MITS), based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and founded in 1983, provides resources to K-8 school teachers of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

In cooperation with educators at science and natural history museums, MITS initiates and sponsors innovative science teaching methods at both public and private schools in the USA. MITS produces compendiums, teaching workshops, seminars, and an annual publication, Science is Elementary, with an aim of providing activities that teachers can use as a model for their classroom activities and curriculum.

MITS organizes a Summer Institute for K-8 educators.^[1]
