It is part of the Munday Consolidated Independent School District located in southeastern Knox County. Munday High School is known "officially" as Munday Secondary School as it absorbed students in 2009 from Munday Junior High located in Goree, Texas. In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[2]

Unique Nickname
Munday Moguls - This name was adopted in 1925 in honor of fierce warriors who conquered part of India. The girls' teams are known as "Mogulettes."[3]

Under the leadership of long time director, Karen Longan, Munday High School has advanced to the State One Act Play Meet 8 times winning one State Championship (1993), finishing 2nd runner-up (1997) and 1st runner-up (2008).
