It was established by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi former chief minister of Punjab province of Pakistan in 2006.The current Executive Director of the institute is Syed Ali Raza Gardezi. It is a [tertiary care hospital] providing vast capabilities of cardiology and cardiac surgery as well. ECG, Echo cardiography, Angiography, Stent insertion, Paeds Cardiac Surgery, Adult Cardiac Surgery are done here.
