- Muhtesip
-
Muhtesip is an inspection and auditing system used before the municipal governance came in effect in the Islamic world. The muhtesip (inspector or auditor) was authorized to audit the businesses if they were selling their products at the price limits set by the government. Muhtesip also inspected if the food sold were safe and the measuring equipments were accurate.[1]
