Mudappallur is a village in the Palakkad district of the state of Kerala in India. It is a small locality comes under the Vandazhi-II village. Mudappallur's Postal Index Number is 678705.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Mudappallur had a population of 11176 with 5740 males and 6036 females.[1][1]

Location

It is situated on the Trissur-Pollachi route. It is located 5 km away from Vadakkencherry and 10 km from Alathur. Mangalam Dam is nearer to this area.

Educational institutions

GUPS School and NSS UP School are the two schools of this place.

Temples

Two renown temples of the village are Azhikulangara Bhagavathy temple and Shiva temple.

Azhikulangara Bhagavathi

Azhikulangara Bhagavathy Temple

This temple is situated in Mudapallur of Vandazhi Panchayat at Palakkad district on the Vadakkenchery - Nemmara route. The presiding deity facing east is Bhagavathy, on a Sila kannadi statue. Poojas are conducted twice, and the famous "vela" falls on the 8th of the Malayalam month ofEdavam, Ezhunallippu on the 9th and Thalapoly on the 10th. The temple belonged to Ammadam Kuruvattu Avanavu Mana but now it is being governed by a local committee under the control of HR & CEo.[2]

Festivals

The major festival of the village is azhikulangara bhagavathy vela [1] which is yearly conducted on may 22nd.velaparambu is always will be the ground yard in front of the azhikulangara bhagavathy temple.Ezhunallippu,thalapoly,fireworks, elephants and panchavadyam etc. are the major attractions that makes the carnival a fabulous and a colourful celebration.

Mosques

Salafi Masjid

Mudappallur got two mosques,[2] Salafi Masjid of [3]Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen and Sunnathu Jam'ath Masjid of Sunni.

Politics

The place is a communist stronghold with communists winning majority in the panchayat elections.
