Moyar Power House is located in Gudalur, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, India. The power-house under the control of Tamilnadu State Electricity Board. It is 48 km from Ooty, 36 km from Gudalur and 8 km from Kundah power house. Situated on the road branching-off from the Gudalur-Mysore road, the specialty of this Power house is that it is underground and water flows through tunnels. A "winch" system allowed access to the top of the hill in the early days.[1] [2]
Moyar power house
The installed capacity of power house is 36MW and it as 3 units each as 12MW capacity. The elevation of the power house is above 609 meters and the water source for the power house is from Moyar forebay Dam, Maravakandy Dam, Pyakara power house tail race and It has a Dam Capacity is 446.25 Cusec.[3] [4]
