Mount Rigel

Mount Rigel (70°24′S 66°52′W / 70.4°S 66.867°W / -70.4; -66.867) is the highest peak (1,910 m) of Orion Massif, Rymill Coast, Palmer Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from U.S. Navy aerial photographs taken 1966-69. Named by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1976 after the star Rigel in the constellation Orion.
