Mount Kostka

Mount Kostka (70°42′S 164°49′E / 70.7°S 164.817°E / -70.7; 164.817) is a mountain (1,210 m) on the west side of Zykov Glacier, 3 nautical miles (6 km) southeast of Saddle Peak, in the Anare Mountains. Photographed from the air by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946-47. Surveyed by Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1958 and named after Czechoslovakian aerologist O. Kostka, a member of Soviet Antarctic Expedition, 1959–61, who perished in a fire at Mirnyy Station on August 3, 1960.
