Mount Goodale (85°45′S 157°43′W / 85.75°S 157.717°W) is a mountain with double summits, 2,420 m and 2,570 m, standing 6 nautical miles (11 km) southeast of Mount Thorne in the Hays Mountains of the Queen Maud Mountains. Discovered in December 1929 by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition geological party under Laurence Gould, and named by Byrd after Edward E. Goodale, a member of that party. From 1959 to 1968 Goodale served as United States Antarctic Research Program (USARP) Representative in Christchurch, New Zealand, and facilitated the passage of thousands of researchers to Antarctica and return.
