Mount Dayton

Mount Dayton (85°44′S 158°41′W / 85.733°S 158.683°W / -85.733; -158.683) is a mainly ice-free mountain, 1,420 m, at the east side of Amundsen Glacier, standing 5 nautical miles (9 km) west of Mount Goodale in the Hays Mountains. Mapped from ground surveys and air photos by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, 1928-30. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Paul K. Dayton III, biologist with the McMurdo Station winter party of 1964.
