Mount Freed

Mount Freed (71°29′S 164°20′E / 71.483°S 164.333°E / -71.483; 164.333) is a mountain, 2,120 m, that surmounts the divide between the Champness and McCann Glaciers, in the south part of the Bowers Mountains. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Commander M.G. Freed, legal officer on the staff of the Commander, U.S. Naval Support Force, Antarctica, 1966-68.
