Mount Farrell is a mountain over 2,600 m, rising just northwest of Dater Glacier and about 13 nautical miles (24 km) east of Mount Shear, in the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for LTJG Lawrence J. Farrell, U.S. Navy, who died in the crash of a UB-1 Otter airplane at Marble Point on January 4, 1959.
