Mount Eos

Mount Eos

Mount Eos (71°42′S 168°38′E / 71.7°S 168.633°E / -71.7; 168.633) is a mountain with a bare summit rising to about 2,600 m, 4.5 nautical miles (8 km) north of Mount Adam in the Admiralty Mountains, Victoria Land. Visited in 1981-82 by Bradley Field, geologist, New Zealand Geological Survey, who suggested the name because the area provided excellent views of dawns and sunsets. In Greek mythology, Eos is the goddess of dawn.
