Mount Durnford

Mount Durnford (80°58′S 158°15′E / 80.967°S 158.25°E / -80.967; 158.25) is a mountain, 2,715 m, standing 5 nautical miles (9 km) southeast of Mount Field in the Churchill Mountains. Discovered and named "Durnford Bluff" by the Discovery expedition (1901–04), for Admiral Sir John Durnford, a Junior Naval Lord who was of assistance to the expedition. The New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) (1960–61) remapped the feature and amended the name to Mount Durnford.
