-
Moraine Canyon (86°9′S 157°30′W / 86.15°S 157.5°W) is a canyon with very steep rock walls, 8 nautical miles (15 km) long, indenting northern Nilsen Plateau just west of Fram Mesa, in the Queen Maud Mountains. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-64. So named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) because the canyon floor is completely covered by glacial moraine.
