Mooto is a town in the province of Équateur, Democratic Republic of the Congo.[1]

Geography
Mooto is in the equatorial forest.
Economy
There is trade between Mooto, Bikoro, Mbandaka, and Kinshasa, the Congolese capital. Agriculture is the main activity of Mooto, as in other towns of the equatorial forest. Beside agriculture, hunting of animals is a significant activity. Between 1980 and 1997, the former bishop Frederic Etsou established a developmental center over there (Centre de Developemnt Rural de Mooto).
History
In 1915, Roman Catholic missionaries from Belgium built a parish in Mooto. Inside of the parish there are three schools: an elementary school (EP Bonsinga), a high school (Institut Technique Agricole de Mooto)and a technical school.
