Saint Molua (d. c 609),[1] (also known as Lua, Da Lua),[1] was an Irish saint, who was a Christian abbot in the Early Middle Ages.[1]
Little is known on Molua other than he was a monk, a builder and possibly a hermit.[1] Molua was the founder of Killaloe (Irish: Cill-da-Lua),[2] which bears his name Lua.[2] Molua had his oratory on Friar's Island[1] near the present village of Killaloe.[2]
Molua's principle disciple was Saint Flannan, who succeeded Molua.[1]
Saint Molua's feast day is on August 4.[1]
