Mixing of stimulants and depressants
- Mixing of stimulants and depressants
-
Mixing of stimulants and depressants can have unpredictable[1] and/or dangerous results. Certain combinations can produce coma and death.[2] The mixing of energy drinks with ethanol reduces one’s ability to accurately assess one’s own intoxication levels and reduces objective self measures of impairment.[3] Mixing stimulants with heroin, a combination known as a speedball, is said to produce an unusually intense high.[4] Mixing cocaine use with alcohol or other drugs increases the chances of an overdose.[5] Alcohol is sometimes mixed with coffee.[6]
