Mitch Schock is an American professional poker player. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker where he made three final tables and has had at least five in the money finishes in each of the last three World Series of Pokers (WSOP).[1] Upon winning his first bracelet after several years of trying, he was quoted in the The Bismarck Tribune as comparing poker with farming saying "some years are better than others."[2]

He has a total of twenty WSOP in the money finishes (2011-5, 2010-5, 2009-5, 2008-2, 2006-1, 2005-2) with two final tables in 2009 and three in 2011.[1] His first in the money finish was a 477th place finish in the 2005 5619-player $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship (2005 Main Event) Event 42 for a prize of $14,135.[3] He had his best main event finish to date the following year a 29th place finish in the 2006 8773-player $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship Event 39 for a prize of $329,865.[4] His first final table was an 8th place finish at the 2009 359-player $1,500 Seven Card Stud Event 16 for a prize of $13,373.[5] He believes himself to be the only bracelet winner from North Dakota.[6]

At the 2011 WSOP, he finished in the money with an 8th place finish at the 675-player $1,500 Limit Hold'em Event 6 for a prize of $19,856,[7] a 6th place finish at the 337-player $3,000 Limit Hold'em Event 14 for a prize of $41,621,[8] a 60th place finish at the 685-player $3,000 Limit Hold'em Event 31 for a prize of $6,077,[9] a 12th place finish at the 3144-player $1,000 Limit Hold'em Event 34 for a prize of $28,239,[10] and a 1st place finish, which earned him his first bracelet, at the 606-player $2,500 Limit Hold'em Event 39 for a prize of $310,225,[11]
