Sidney Sheldon's Mistress of the Game is a 2009 novel by Tilly Bagshawe.^[1] It is the sequel to Sidney Sheldon's critically acclaimed 1982 novel Master of the Game, which had debuted at number one on the New York Times Bestseller List^[2] and was later adapted into a 1984 television miniseries.^[3][4] Mistress of the Game continues the story of the powerful Blackwell family as the lifelong conflict between twins Eve and Alexandra extends to their children.^[1]

Plot

Opening with the wedding of Lexi Templeton, Kate Blackwell's great-granddaughter, the story is told in a flashback similar to Master of the Game. Danny Corretti was up to the tree trying to take a photograph of the Beast of the Blackwell family, Eve Blackwell. It costs him $200,000 just to get the face of the Beast.It is the day where the master is dead,Kate Blackwell at the age of 92.and Alexandra Blackwell Templeton, the heir of Kruger Brent is mourning for her death with her husband Peter Templeton and her son Robert Templeton.Kate is gone but the game must go on. After the death of Kate, another tragic event happens in the Blackwell Family, the Death of Alexandra after giving birth to her daughter Lexi.Peter is in despair and so is Robert.The only consolation is that Lexi looks much like Alexandra. Keith Webster is very worried about Eve due to what happened with Alexandra but Eve survives giving birth to Max Webster. Her dreams and revenge will soon be coming true through Max. Max grows with in the shadow of the Eve's hatred and obsession to get Kruger Brent. He begins to hate the Templeton as he grows up. Lexi grows up to be very beautiful and intelligent. She has everything that everyone wants. Afterwards, Robert signs a paper stating that the control of Kruger Brent will be at Lexi's hand when she reaches 25, but there is a sudden change in events. It comes to light that Lexi had become deaf after a huge trauma when she was 8. She was kidnapped and experienced sexual assault. Max and Lexi are both competitive towards each other just to win the greatest price. They both have hidden secrets. Max killed his father when they are on holiday, Lexi was a roaring bitch during her college years. Max lures Lexi by his charm, thereby making Lexi fall to his trap.Lexi looses control of Kruger Brent after Max exposes her from her messy records. Lexi swears that she will have Kruger Brent by hook or by crook. After 5 years, Lexi is now managing her business named Templeton.It is based in South Africa where Kruger Brent started. Her competitor is Gabriel Mcgregor's Phoenix. Gabriel is her distant cousin from her mother's side. After some unexpected events Gabriel loses his family. Africans salvage his family and Gabriel is in the care of Robert while Lexi helps him recover after falling in love with him. Meanwhile Lexi's wildest dream is still going on. She manages to buy all the parts of Kruger Brent loose. She manages to fall off Kruger Brent out of the stock market making it bankrupt. After a few days she buys it with her new company Cedar International thus kicking off Max in the company and making him out of his mind so that he eventually kills himself. She gets the Kruger Brent again but she looses Gabriel after borrowing his money with out any permission from him but she manages to payback everything she owes to him. Lexi is about to abort her child but Gabriel comes and convinces her to continue the pregnancy and to marry him. After giving birth to Maxine Alexandra, Lexi gets married to Gabriel. But Eve manages to send a copy of a plot of how they managed to make Kruger Brent fall and rise again and all there hidden agenda. Before the police arrests her she manages to talk to Gabriel and arrange everything for an escape. They escape well even though they are in the eye of FBI and Interpol. They go to Maldives with the help of Robert and her closest friend. She reads her Aunt Eve's letter for her and said " I may not won the game.Not yet.But I'm still here.Still playing."
