MisSiss (born Sissy Handler, May 6, 1976)^{[citation needed]} is an Austrian singer-songwriter, vocal coach and producer. Born into a musical family, she started to sing at early age and her grandmother’s piano became her first instrument. At the age of eight, MisSiss started classical ballet training.

Although she studied classical singing and musical theatre, her first stage role was as “Sister Robert Anne” in the show “Nunsense”. In 2006 she started the band “Soulistics”, as its lead singer and songwriter. The group made it to the finals of the 2008 Austrian radio band contest Ö3 Souncheck.^[1]

Along with Ingrid Diem and Barbara Fichtenbauer, MisSiss created “Voicedimensions”, a new form of vocal coaching for Austrian singers.

In 2010 MisSiss created a new style of music that mixed Soul and Tango.^[vague] This received its world premiere in Argentina during a 2010 tour that also included Uruguay. The album was written, sung and co-produced by MisSiss in Vienna then produced and arranged in Buenos Aires.^[2] Leading Tango musicians in Buenos Aires performed the music live for the recording of this project. MisSiss' music is edited through her independent label.

In July 2010, the Austrian embassy in Argentina provided institutional support for the tour including a video clip that mixed images of both countries.^[vague]

Influences

Classical ballet composers, such as Chopin, Tchaikovski, Ravel and Prokoview, along with two modern ballets have influenced her heavily. Astor Piazzolla's “The Five Tangos“ and Love songs - sung by Aretha Franklin and Dionne Warwick.
