Romero Federico Saenz Quimbo, also known as Atty. Miro, is a Filipino politician and is the Philippine House of Representatives Congressman of Marikina City's 2nd District. He won on May 10, 2010 and will succeed Mayor-elect Del R. De Guzman as Marikina's 2nd district legislator to the House of Representatives of the Philippines.[1]

Education

Congressman Miro Quimbo spent the first two grades of elementary school at the Sacred Heart College in Catbalogan, Samar. He moved to Marist School in Marikina City where he eventually finished elementary and high school studies.

He would later go to the prestigious University of the Philippines in Diliman to finish his undergraduate and law degree. At the UP, he was one of the most recognized and accomplished student leaders. He was a member of the UP Student Council for a number of years and was the team captain of the UP Law Debate Team.

Professional Life

Miro Quimbo started his legal practice with the law firm of Poblador Bautista and Reyes, widely regarded as the was best litigation firm in the Philippines.

He would join the Pag-IBIG Fund in 2001 as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer. In 2002, he was appointed to become the head of the same institution until end of 2008. During that period, the Pag-IBIG Fund became the most profitable government corporation and was consistently listed in the top ten corporations in the Philippines. In 2008, the Pag-IBIG was awarded the United Nations Scroll of Honour for its outstanding and innovative housing programs, a first for any Philippine government agency. That same year, the Fund was given a AAA corporate rating, a distinction which was given to a government corporation for the first time.

TOYM

He was recognized by the Philippine Jaycees as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) in 2007 for his outstanding leadership of the Pag-IBIG Fund.

Mayor: DEL R. DE GUZMAN (LP); Vice Mayor: FABIAN CADIZ (LP); Congressman for District 1: MARCELINO TEODORO (Independent); Congressman for District 2: MIRO QUIMBO (LP)[2]

He won the election for Representative, 2nd District of Marikina City on May 10, 2010 succeeding Del De Guzman.
