Miriam N. Kotzin is an Associate Professor of English at Drexel University, a noted poet and short-story writer, editor of Per Contra,[1] a literary journal, and a contributing editor at Boulevard Magazine [2] edited by Richard Burgin. Dr. Kotzin has published over 120 poems and has been nominated three times for a Pushcart Prize. She is also the author of over 50 short stories. She has published three collections: Just Desserts (2010), a collection of short stories; Weights and Measures (2010) a collection of poetry, and Reclaiming the Dead (2009), an acclaimed collection of poetry. Her work has appeared in Southern Humanities Review, The Valparaiso Poetry Review, Hamilton Stone Review, Three Candles, Flashquake, Edifice Wrecked, Thieves Jargon, Carve, Boulevard, FRiGG, SaucyVox, Gator Springs Gazette, Small Spiral Notebook, Plum Ruby Review, 3711 Atlantic, Dead Mule, and Word Riot.
Dr. Kotzin received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (Phi Beta Kappa) and her Ph.D from New York University. At Drexel University she co-directs Drexel University’s Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing and is former director of the Literature program. She has been a juror for the American Film Festival (1973–1982) and judged literary competitions for the Philadelphia Writers' Conference.
