The USA team's victory over the heavily favored Soviet team in the medal round was dubbed the "Miracle on Ice".
Miracle on Ice was directed by Steven Hilliard Stern and written by Lionel Chetwynd. It incorporates actual game footage and ABC broadcaster Al Michaels' original commentary from the 1980 Winter Games. In 2004, another film based on the Miracle on Ice was made, called Miracle.
