About Ming Kung Fu, (明功夫 Míng gōngfu)
A traditional style of Kung Fu (Gongfu) Chinese martial art, majoring in taijiquan (t'ai chi ch'uan), with discipleship which is senior Apprenticeship in Durban, South Africa and Great Britain. Ming Kung Fu teaches complete Chinese shadow boxing. Shadow boxing is Kung fu which teaches the ability to connect with a partner/opponent and stick to, through exercises like routines (forms), sparring, locks and holds, weapons etc. Currently registered with the South African Wushu Federation (SAWF), which is in turn a member of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) (Chinese: 国际武术联合会) and the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC).
Ming Kung Fu syllabus is a journey starting from the traditional Yang slow style Taijiquan moving into the Chen-style taijiquan then finishing with the Wudang style taijiquan and fast sets. Ming Kung Fu is taught in three classes Dragon Class (standard general all round), Tiger Class (fighting Class) & Crane Class (mental development), Only the dragon class is compulsory. Ming Kung Fu is a comprehensive and complete internal martial art based on the Wudang Daoist martial art.

- Chen, Yang & Wudang Forms (Fast & Slow Routines), Chen taijiquan, Yang taijiquan, Wudangquan.
- Taiji and Fist Sets, Taijiquan, Changquan
- Chinese weapons
- Chinese locks & holds, Qinna
- Chinese wrestling, Shuai jiao
- Traditional barehand combat strategy and practice
- Chinese kick boxing (Sanshou)
Grades
The students, disciples and teachers may test their skills through a regimented grading system that offers the following levels:
- Grade 1, White Belt
- Grade 2, Yellow Belt
- Grade 3, Green Belt
- Grade 4, Blue Belt
- Grade 5, Red Dan 1
- Grade 6, Red Dan 2
- Grade 7, Red Dan 3
- Grade 8, Black Belt
