Early life

Milos Nikolic was born in Zaječar, in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, on 16 August 1989.[2][3][4]

Club career

2008–09 season

Nikolic first played international football in the 2008 OFC U-20 Championship, where he played all three warm-up matches, scoring two goals, before being played on the bench and not substituted on for the first two matches of the championship. However, he was substituted on in the 52nd minute in New Zealand's final match against New Caledonia, where New Zealand drew 2–2, thereby failing to qualify for the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.

Nikolic debuted in New Zealand's top-level league for Auckland City in the 2008–09 New Zealand Football Championship season, but despite scoring two goals on his debut, and a goal in his next two matches, he was then dropped for the rest of the season.[2]

2009–10 season

In the 2009–10 New Zealand Football Championship season, Nikolic played for Auckland City in the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup, where he was placed on the bench for all three matches. He was only on the field for the last twelve minutes of Auckland's second round match against the Mexican club Atlante, where Auckland lost 3–0. In the New Zealand Football Championship, he played only two matches, but was once again dropped after remaining goalless for the season.

2010–11 season

Nikolic started the 2010–11 ASB Premiership season with new club Waikato FC in style, with the season opening goal against his former club Auckland City.[1] He then went on to score six goals in games, starting round 7, and ended the season equal second on the goal-scorers table, with 9 goals.
