Michelle Xen is an Australian artist and musician in the electronic pop act Edge of Colour.
Xen studied painting and experimental video at the Queensland College of Art before receiving a painting scholarship at the Queensland Art Gallery in 2004.
From 2000-2007 Xen performed as DJ Mox playing the genres of breakbeat, drum and bass, dubstep and grime. Xen performed in Australia and Japan and was played on national radio broadcaster Triple J and radio station 4ZZZ. In 2008 she formed Edge of Colour with producer John Teh and started performing officially with the group in September 2009. In 2010 Michelle Xen performed with Edge of Colour at the MONA FOMA festival, curated by Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes. Edge of Colour also performed at the Brisbane Powerhouse, The Woodford Folk Festival, and toured to Japan.
In 2008 Xen began a research Masters at Queensland University of Technology in visual art and music researching transdisciplinary art and performance. Xen currently teaches contemporary art practice and tours with Edge of Colour.
