Michał Krupiński

Michał Tomasz Krupiński (born 12 February 1981 in Kraków) is a Polish economist, who in the years 2006-2007 served as Deputy Minister of State Treasury in the Polish government. In October 2008 he was appointed to the position of Alternate Executive Director at the World Bank Group. At the age of 25 he was the youngest person nominated to a ministerial position in Poland's history.

Michał Krupiński was born in Kraków in 1981. He graduated summa cum laude from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium (M.A in European Economy), holds a degree from the Warsaw School of Economics (MSc in International Economics) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Columbia Business School in New York.

In the government he successfully led the programme of consolidation, liberalisation and deregulation of the electricity industry increasing the value of the sector. In the years 2003-2006 he worked as Adviser in the General Secretariat/UEN Group of the European Parliament in Brussels/Strasbourg.

He regularly contributes to the European daily newspapers on topics related to economics and business and was speaker at numerous international conferences and events.
