Michael Synnott (born 20 January 1987 in Dublin, Republic of Ireland) is an Irish professional footballer who is unattached.

Football career

Synnott is a versatile right-back who is also comfortable playing at left-back. He began his career with Ipswich Town in 2003 until his release in 2008[1] In April 2009 Synnott signed for Dundalk and made his debut for the Lilywhites during a 1-0 victory over Derry City at The Brandywell on 24 April 2009.[2] Following 11 league appearances for Dundalk, Synnott signed on loan for Shelbourne on 15 July 2009.[3] He made his Shelbourne debut as a second-half substitute during a 2-2 league draw against Athlone Town on July 25, 2009 at Lissywoolen.[4] On 2 March 2010, Synnott signed a permanent deal with Dundalk for the 2010 season.[5] On 27 July 2010 his contract was terminated by mutual agreement after Synnott struggled to break into Dundalk's starting XI.[6]
