Michael Henry Sheridan

Michael Henry Sheridan (July 8, 1912 – August 23, 1976) was a United States federal judge.

Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, Sheridan received a B.S. from Lafayette College in 1933 and an LL.B. from Dickinson School of Law in 1936. He was in private practice from 1937 to 1942. He was in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1942 to 1947, and then served as an assistant U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. in 1947, returning to private practice from 1948 to 1961.

On August 15, 1961, Sheridan was nominated by President John F. Kennedy to a new seat on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania created by 75 Stat. 80. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 30, 1961, and received his commission the same day. He served as chief judge from 1962 until his death in 1976.
