Biography
Michael Harvey Jnr is the son of Michael Harvey - a bodybuilder better known as former Gladiators hero "Bullit".[1] Michael Harvey (Snr) owns an independent record label, Artiste Promotion & Management (APM), to which Harvey was once signed.
Harvey was one of the forming members of UK garage collective So Solid Crew. After leaving So Solid Crew, Harvey went solo and released his first single, 'Get Up and Move', which went into the charts at number 24. His debut album was released on the 24th of November 2008; Back to the Beginning produced singles 'Excuse Me Miss', which featured Romeo and Asher D, and 'If I Was Your Man', which featured Nathan. The album did not chart. Other than music Harvey has developed a TV career, on reality TV shows The Games on Channel Four in 2003 (which he won) and several series of The Match on Sky One. He has also appeared on several programmes as a guest including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and has hosted the dance competition Bump 'n Grind on the youth cable channel Trouble and Footballers' Pads on Sky One.
This year Harvey went back to music and released a new song called Hot Gyal with Mr. Brown and Gyptian, the song got a lot of praise and will be his the first single of the forthcoming album tba for 2012 Called Harvey presents D Elite
He made his theatre début in London's West End in the musical Daddy Cool in 2006.
In 2007, Harvey appeared on The Weakest Link Music Extravaganza Special. He was the 4th contestant voted off.
In 2008, Harvey and his girlfriend Javine Hylton welcomed their first child Angel. In the same year, he also participated in a celebrity version of Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me, along with Jonathan Ansell, Tamara Beckwith and Lynsey de Paul. Harvey finished joint first with Jonathan Ansell, both of whom scored 21 points.
He joined the line-up of Angie Le Mar's play The Brothers at the Hackney Empire in 2008. The play was broadcast on MTV Base. He also had a hit show on MTV Base called The Young Gods Of Comedy. He visited Robertsbridge Community College as a motivational speaker about the music industry, singing songs and inviting students to show their rapping skills.
He starred in the 2010 British gangster film The Big I Am as the character Robbo.
Personal life
Harvey began dating singer Alesha Dixon in 2000 and the two were married in June 2005. In November 2006, the couple split after Dixon discovered that he was having an affair with singer Javine Hylton, whom he first met when she was participating in The Games;[2] they would later star in a West End version of Daddy Cool.[3] Hylton gave birth to their daughter, Angel Hylton Harvey, on 23 February 2008. The baby was delivered naturally at the London Birthing Centre in St George's Hospital Tooting, and weighed 9 lbs.[4]
In September 2009, Hylton and Harvey separated due to Harvey's alleged infidelity. A spokesman for Javine confirmed their break-up, saying: "Javine has left Harvey and the family home for a myriad of reasons. The main crunch came when she found evidence of him being unfaithful. She now wants to be left alone to regroup, resettle and care for her daughter Angel."
Football
Harvey supports Liverpool FC and is also a non-league football player, who plays in defence. He has played for a number of clubs including spells at AFC Wimbledon, Aldershot Town and Lewes. He was signed by the Conference South side St Albans City in June 2007 but left because of work commitments.
