- Michael Chance Band
-
Michael Chance Band is composed of earnest and talented young musicians who began playing together in the summer of 2009. An unlikely rock band, the band features include acoustic and electric guitars, a drum set that spans a player on three sides, keys, saxophone, and flute!
Described as "fresh" and "innovative," the MCB's players are professionals who have shared stages and studios with some of the best musicians to grace Philadelphia, or the world. With the help of veteran soul producer Rena Sinakin, Michael Chance recorded early song demos with such laudable talents as Robert Martin (Orleans, Frank Zappa, Etta James), Wayne "Tex" Gabriel (of John Lennon and Elephant's Memory), Steve "Muruga" Booker (of the Parliament-Funkadelic), Steve Wise (Stevie Wonder's protege), and Bruce Hawes, a pioneer of The Sound of Philadelphia. Their welcome experience and cultured talent has taught the frontman of this young and energetic group how to rely on his strengths: a husky, powerful voice, an ability to write songs that stay in your head, and an inability to divorce his emotions from his performance. With the advent of the MCB, Michael is finally lucky enough to be teamed up with musicians who manage to consistently amaze him with their consummate ability, creativity, and on-stage intensity.
Live performances from The Michael Chance Band are an emotionally powerful affair. The band's members seem unafraid of what they are doing, openly finding joy in exhaustive display.
