Michael Robert Brenly (born October 14, 1986, in San Francisco, California), is a catcher for the Chicago Cubs organization. He is the son of current Cubs TV analyst and former MLB manager and player Bob Brenly.

College

Brenly attended UNLV were he posted a .289 average with a .371 OBP, he slugged .412 and he had a OPS of 780. He also had 8 home runs with 79 RBIs.[1]

Minor League

With his stint in 2008 with the Boise Hawks who are the A- minor league affiliate of the Cubs he had a .325 batting average with 1 home run and 18 RBIs in 39 games. In 2008 Brenly played for the Cubs Minor league affiliate in Peoria where he posted a .265 batting average with 4 home runs and 36 RBIs in 94 games. He was a FSL post-season all-star in 2010, with a .270 batting average. He is currently listed on the 2011 roster of the Daytona Cubs.

Personal life

He is the son of former Giants and Blue Jays Catcher, former Arizona Diamondbacks manager and current Chicago broadcaster Bob Brenly and Joan Brenly. He is engaged to Elisabeth Katz of Rochester, New York.[2]
