Micah Blunt is a former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) import, who played 14 games for the Galerie Dominique Artists in the 1982 PBA Open Conference. He arrived as a mid-tournament replacement for the injured James Robinson[disambiguation needed ] and teamed with Kenny Barnes for Galerie the rest of the conference, unfortunately, it was a forgettable campaign for the Artists, finishing with a lowly 3-win, 15-loss mark.

In a feature in the British magazine Basketball Monthly (January 1987), Blunt described the PBA a "great league" He was impressed by the Filipino players' shooting ability. "In the Philippines, they operate a great league, All the teams were in Manila and there were 6,000 to 7,000 watching every game, and boy,,, could they shoot!"
Background
A product of Tulane University, The 6-9, 210-pound native of New Orleans, Blunt was named after an eight century BC hebrew prophet. An Old Testament book was also named to honor the seer Micah. "I was brought up to behave and believe in a certain way, so the name does not add any pressures," said Blunt.
Basketball career
Blunt was the Los Angeles Lakers eight round pick in the 1982 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft. Other Lakers draftees that year included ex-PBA import Michael Hackett (third round) and Maurice Williams (seventh). He never made it to the Lakers roster with only first pick James Worthy, who work his way to earn a spot with the LA Lakers. In 1983, Blunt made his debut in the English league with the Unbridge club. He tried his luck in two NBA camps the following year but neither the Lakers nor the Clippers bit. He returned to England and suited up for Plymouth in the second division in the 1984-85 season. Blunt averaged 6.5 points for the Evansville Thunder in the Continental league, and also played briefly for the Dijon team in France. In 1986, Blunt ranked second in scoring in the English league, hitting a 30.1 clip for the Calderdale Explorers. He led Calderdale to the Prudential Cup semifinals but the Explorers lost an 81-77 decision to Portsmouth despite his team-high 22 points.
