  • 1847: Promoted as Apostolic Vicariate of Abyssinia
  • 1937.03.25: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Addis Abeba
  • 1951.10.31: Promoted as Apostolic Exarchate of Addis Abeba
  • 1961.02.20: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Addis Abeba
