- Romanos Melikian (1883-1935) Armenian composer of "Zmrukhti", song cycle, (1916-1918) dedicated to Armenian Genocide.
- Melikian-Ouzounian School (1921-1953) in Cyprus, founded by Melikian family and linked to the Armenian Apostolic Church until taken over by Turkish Cypriots in 1963.
