The station is located south of the center and the GR-8A superhighway connecting Athens and the Peloponnese peninsula.
It was opened on September 27, 2005 and its current form dates to 2007. It has two platforms and a siding.
It should not be confused with the older station on the Piraeus–Patras line (the former SPAP), which is located to the north inside the city of Megara itself.
