Megan Shull

Megan Shull is a writer whose works are themed towards adolescent girls. She has a Doctorate from Cornell University in Psychology, and played hockey for the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program.

Hockey

Megan Shull grew up in Ithaca, New York and participated in hockey. In 1981, and 1986, her teams participated in national tournaments. Megan Shull would join the Cornell Big Red in 1987. She would have to stop playing in the 1988-89 season due to a back injury. [1] Shull continued to contribute to Cornell by starting the "Cub Club". The purpose was to give young female hockey players the chance to shadow Cornell women's ice hockey players.[2]

Writing

She would go on to become a children's author, and write for American Girl, as well as for Hyperion Books. One of her first stories was about hockey, "Yours Truly, Skye O'Shea." O'Shea is a hockey-playing sixth grader that grew up in Ithaca, New York. [3] Yours Truly, Skye O'Shea, and Skye's The Limit were published under American Girl books; and Amazing Grace was released under Hyperion.
