"Harry Payne Whitney played the part of an English country squire to perfection at his country place at Wheatley Hills yesterday, the occasion being the annual meeting of the Meadow Brook Steeplechase Association. For the farmers and their families in the vicinity Mr. Whitney provided an abundant lunch, and incidentally an opportunity to get enough out of "them city fellers" to buy all the fertilizers they will need for the coming year."
