Me and the Mountain is a rock band from London that formed in late 2009. They released their debut single "Hands To Yourself" on 25 October 2010 with a promo video directed by Oliver Nias of Intrinsic Pictures.[1][2][3] The video accumulated a number of plays on television channels such as Lava Tv and Kerrang! TV with one reviewer describing the track as "a great slice of indie punk skewered with great riffs and melodies".[4]

Throughout 2010 BBC Essex Introducing regularly played the band's demo tracks on their Friday evening shows and ultimately named "This Is What You Do" as one of their top 5 tracks of 2010.[5]

March 2011 saw the band release a 7-track recording entitled the Ruthless EP which has been described as "fast, fun and a great introduction to the band [...] 4/5".[6] The EP was recorded in its entirety at guitarist Sam Featherstone's studio in Colchester and was mixed by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios in Reading.
