McQueen McIntosh

McQueen McIntosh

McQueen McIntosh (1822-June 18, 1868) was a United States federal judge.

McIntosh was a Florida planter who read law to enter the bar. He was in private practice in Jacksonville, Florida from 1850 to 1856.

On February 27, 1856, McIntosh was nominated by President Franklin Pierce to a seat on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida vacated by Isaac H. Bronson. McIntosh was confirmed by the United States Senate on March 11, 1856, and received his commission the same day. McIntosh served in that capacity until the outbreak of the American Civil War, in which he sided with the Confederacy and therefore submitted his resignation from the federal bench, on January 3, 1861.

He was then made a judge on the District Court of Florida of the Confederate States of America, in 1861.

He died in Pensacola, Florida.
