McLeod Health is a hospital network serving the twelve counties of northeastern South Carolina. McLeod Health was founded in 1906. It is a locally owned, not-for-profit institution. The organization has a staff of nearly 4,800, including nearly 400 physicians and more than 1,400 nurses. McLeod Health operates 30 medical practices.
In July 2010, McLeod Regional Medical Center was honored with the American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize, awarded annually to only one hospital in the United States.
Facilities
McLeod operates facilities all across the Pee Dee area which includes 3 hospitals and a fitness center in the following locations.
- McLeod Regional Medical Center is a 453-bed non-profit medical center located on a 75-acre (300,000 m2) campus in Downtown Florence, the hospital complex in downtown contains the Cardiovascular Institute, the Center for Advance Surgery, the Cancer Center and the only Children's Hospital unit in the Northeastern portion of South Carolina.
- McLeod Medical Center Darlington - is a 49 bed acute hospital located in Darlington, South Carolina. It also has 23 inpatient psychiatric beds.
- McLeod Medical Center Dillon - is a 79 bed acute hospital located in Dillon, South Carolina.
- McLeod Health and Fitness Center - is a state of the art fitness center located in Florence
