The Mbaja or Ovambaja are part of the Oshiwambo speaking people. They live in northern Namibia and southern Angola, and speak Oshimbaja. The majority of the Ovambaja people lives in the Cunene province(província do Cunene) in southern Angola.
Some of the Ovambaja stay in Okalongo in the Omusati region, Namibia. Like any other Owambo people, the Ombaja people raise cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and chicken. They cultivate the land to grow omahangu, maize, sorghum and beans during the rainy season.
