Maurstad Point

Maurstad Point (65°39′S 66°5′W / 65.65°S 66.083°W / -65.65; -66.083) is a point lying 6.5 nautical miles (12 km) north-northeast of Speerschneider Point, midway along the west side of Renaud Island in the Biscoe Islands. First accurately shown on an Argentine government chart of 1957. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1959 for Alf Maurstad, author of Atlas of Sea Ice, 1935.
