He is playing Danny in the 2010-2011 National Tour of Grease. The 2010-2011 national tour of the new Broadway production of Grease will launch in Denver, CO, at the Buell Theatre Oct. 12, 2010.[1]

Life and career
Nolan was born in Long Island, New York, the son of Arlene and Joseph Nolan. He has a younger sister, Jaclyn Nolan (born c. 1986). Nolan grew up on Long Island, where he grew up playing soccer, basketball, and track and field at South Side High School. In 2002 Nolan was the Class A New York State champion in the pentathlon earning all-American Honors.[2] After graduation Nolan attended Binghamton University on a soccer scholarship,[3] competing on both the Bearcats soccer[4] and track[5] teams.
Hairspray Tour
After appearing on Grease: You're the One that I Want!, Nolan went on to make his touring debut with the national tour of the Broadway musical Hairspray, playing Fender[6] and covering Link Larkin.[7]
Grease Tour
It was announced on July 7, 2010 that Nolan will be playing Danny in the new Broadway tour of Grease. Rydell High is welcoming a new class for Grease's 2010-2011 national tour, led by Tony nominee Eddie Mekka as TV DJ Vince Fontaine. Matt Nolan, who was a finalist on Grease: You're The One That I Want, the TV series that cast the 2007 Broadway revival, will star as Danny opposite Alyssa Herrera as Sandy. The tour kicks off October 12–17 in Denver, CO, at the Buell Theatre. The tour is directed by David John O'Brien and choreographed by Joyce Chittick.[8]
Eddie Mekka is best known for his role as Carmine Ragusa on TV's Laverne and Shirley. He received a 1975 Tony nomination for the rock opera The Lieutenant and appeared on Broadway in Jumpers and The Magic Show. His many film credits include Beaches, A League of Their Own and Dear God. Nolan recently toured with Hairspray, and Herrera's stage credits include High School Musical and Little Women.[9]

Cast includes Dominique Scott as Drew, Shannon Mullen as Sherrie, Justin Colombo as Lonny, Matt Nolan as Stacee Jaxx/Father, Matt Ban as Dennis DuPree, Amma Osei as Justice/Mother, Stephen Michael Kane as Franz, Phillip Peterson as Hertz, and Katie Postotnik as Regina. The ensemble includes: Chris Sams, Joey Elrose, Wesley Faucher, Lisa Finegold, Tymisha "tush" Harris, Alyssa Herrera, Patrick Joyce, and Danny McHugh.
Grease: You're The One That I Want
In 2006, he auditioned to be a contestant on the Grease competition. Criticized for his lack of professional training and experience (known as the "untrained jock"), he made it onto the show, being one of the last people chosen to move on to Grease Academy. However, after being the last Danny eliminated during Grease Academy a surprise twist was unveiled, and the judges brought back Nolan, "Second Chance Danny" as well as eliminated Sandy Ashley Anderson to compete on the live shows on NBC.[10]
