Matthew Martin Carpenter (born November 26, 1985) is a Major League Baseball third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Carpenter was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft out of Texas Christian University, where he had played for the TCU Horned Frogs baseball team.

Carpenter was called up to the majors for the first time on June 3, 2011.[1] He made his MLB debut at home on June 4, 2011.
