Mathis Nunataks (77°8′S 143°27′W / 77.133°S 143.45°W) is an isolated cluster of nunataks near the head of Arthur Glacier, 8 nautical miles (15 km) east-southeast of Mount Warner, in the Ford Ranges of Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by United States Antarctic Service (USAS) (1939–41) and by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos (1959–65). Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Terry R. Mathis, traverse engineer with the Byrd Station glaciological strain network, summer season (1967–68), and station engineer with the Byrd Station winter party (1968).
