Crosses Monongahela River Locale Masontown, Pennsylvania and Monongahela Township, Pennsylvania Design Truss bridge Total length 1,466 feet (447 m) Vertical clearance 21 feet (6.4 m) Opened 1925 The Masontown Bridge is a truss bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Monongahela River between Masontown, Pennsylvania and Monongahela Township, Pennsylvania. The structure was built in 1925 and rehabilitated in 1993. Once known as the Intercounty Bridge, it is schedule for replacement in 2011 or 2012.
The bridge is one of my large truss bridges constructed in Pennsylvania and Ohio by Farris Engineering in the 1920s. The structure passes directly in front of the large Hatfield Power Plant and thus carries a large amount of associated truck traffic.
