2008Personal details Born 1955 Political party Democratic Residence San Diego, California Alma mater National University Website Official Website Marti Emerald (born 1955) is an elected member of the San Diego City Council in San Diego, California representing San Diego's seventh Council district since 2008.[1] The seventh district includes the communities of Allied Gardens, City Heights, College and Eastern, Redwood Village/Oak Park, Del Cerro, El Cerrito, Grantville, Mission Trails Regional Park, Rolando, San Carlos, and Tierrasanta. She is a Democrat, although City Council positions are officially nonpartisan per California state law.

Councilmember Emerald began her political career in 2008 under investigation for campaign ethics violations and was eventually fined for wrong doing. Constituents of Emerald's district 7 created the only known website completely dedicated to reporting on the public accountability of a San Diego City Councilmember. The site, www.MartiEmeraldSanDiegoCityCouncil.com, includes images, video, and commentary from local residents concerning District 7 and serves as a public portal of information on public accountability concerning San Diego's District 7.
