History
Marsco Manufacturing (later Marsco Glass Products) was founded in 1947 [1]. The company first set itself apart as a technological leader in specialized glass products. The company’s earliest product lines focused largely on customized dials and gauges. With the arrival of television, Marsco became one of the first manufacturers to produce protective gray glass shields for television tubes[2].
In the 1970s, Marsco engineers introduced a heat-resistant coating for glass, which expanded the uses for glass in kitchen appliances like self-cleaning ovens.[2] Marsco then formed partnerships with well-known industry names like General Electric to become the dominant supplier of heat-resistant coated glass in North America.[3]
In 1995, general manager Mike Hobbs engineered a management buyout of the company and brought on Fred Fowler to serve as company president.[4] In 2002, Marsco engineers developed and later patented a new control technology for electrically Heated Glass Technology.
In 2006, Marsco Manufacturing changed its name to Engineered Glass Products (EGP) and created Marsco Glass Products as a wholly owned subsidiary. Marsco Glass Products continues to manufacture heat-reflective coated glass products for home appliances.[4] A separate subsidiary, Thermique Technologies, manages the development of electrically heated glass products and components.[5]
Corporate Management
Mike Hobbs serves as CEO of both EGP and Marsco Glass Products. Fred Fowler serves a president of both companies and manages day-to-day operations for Marsco.

Marsco Glass Products is the world’s leading manufacturer of coated glass for self-cleaning ovens. Designed for safety and energy savings, the company’s Heat Barrier coating is applied to one side of the glass in the HBI product line and both sides of the glass in the HBII product line.
